KNOCK ON WOOD
To "knock on wood" is both saying and action, well known to invoke good luck or ward off bad. Add a new type of luck to your game, and you'll always have a 'wooden' stick in hand to knock on. Did you know?: most of the first field hockey sticks (dating back to 1860) were made of mulberry wood. It was not until 1992 that stick manufacturing introduced the use of composite materials, like carbon and fiberglass and kevlar. Today, while composite materials are the standard for elite play, some manufacturers still use mulberry wood for traditional or beginner sticks. Choose from: Redwood (red) Sycamore (tan) Mulberry (purple) Eucalyptus (green) Cedar (pink)
